Here is Christian (far left) and others. They are loading up and getting ready to leave.
They followed the Mormon Pioneer trail west. There were windmills all across Iowa.

Trying to "pack" a covered wagon. They were only allowed so much weight and they had to try to make sure they had the right amounts of the different supplies. It was difficult to do.
They got to pull the handcart around on the carpet...easy. Then the tour guide put a little pebble just in front of one of the wheels and asked them to pull the handcart over the pebble...very hard -they were all quite shocked at how hard it was to pull it over one tiny rock.
Camping the first night.
