Today is Saturday Nov 8. We have moved and my computer is finally up and running. The past few weeks have been absolutely exhausting. On Saturday Oct 25 the kids and I "moved" into my parents house. On Monday Oct 27 the packers came and packed everything. On Tuesday the movers came and loaded the truck. Here are some pics. We filled it about 3/4 full. Why do we have so much stuff?

They made our stairs into this cardboard ramp and one guy at the top slid the packed boxes down to another guy at the bottom. My kids would have loved to try this!

Here is the truck pulling up to our new house in Illinois.

I forgot to take more pictures while they unloaded. The kids last day in New York was Halloween. It was sad and exciting at the same time. We drove over from my parent's house and trick or treated all our old neighbors. We got up and left at 4am the next day and drove to Illinois. My dad caravanned with us in his car. (He volunteered to do this - thanks dad!) We "camped" in our new home on Saturday and Sunday night (Nov 1-2). Our stuff arrived on Monday Nov 3rd. Geoffrey and Brian started school on Monday also. School doesn't start until 9am for them and it's only 2.5 blocks away so we walk - in NY they caught the bus at 7:45am. I took Christian and Heather to appointments at their schools on that same day and they got their schedules, ID cards, and had a tour of the school. There was no school on election day so Wed was Christian and Heather's first regular day of school. All 4 kids love their new schools and are already making lots of new friends from school and church. Brent had this whole past week off and we've been unpacking and setting things up. It's EXHAUSTING. I'll take some pics of the new house once we're a little more set up. Right now there are still quite a few boxes left to unpack. My dad stayed and helped through Wed night. We even had him put in a new kitchen faucet for us. He left early Thursday morning and drove back to NY. Again, THANKS DAD! We now have my sister-in-law and niece staying with us until tomorrow. My niece, Emily, is interning at a Chicago hospital next semester Jan-Apr and she came out to meet her soon-to-be boss and check out the area. She's going to stay in our spare bedroom while she interns and we are thrilled. This internship is all she has left to complete her degree.
Anyways, I've got to go. I'll try to post more pics as soon as I can.
