We finally had our first snow day off of school since we moved here. The official snow total for where we live is 19 inches. However, this was a blizzard with VERY high winds. In places the snow was 4 feet deep and in others just a few inches. It all depended on where the wind decided to put the snow. The snow plow didn't help much either (more on that in a minute).
This was my back door at 6am this morning. I should note that at this point it was still snowing. It stopped snowing by about 10:30am.

This is what greeted us when we opened the front door. Note that on the left you can see part of the front sidewalk. This was one of the places where the wind didn't leave any snow.
This is looking out the garage door. The driveway had 3-4 foot drifts down toward the bottom.
The snowplow did our cul-de-sac once last night. Still hasn't yet done it again. He plowed a ton of snow onto our front sidewalk. It was 5 feet high and really tightly packed. Brent and the boys had to dig/chop it down a bit and then snow blow it; dig/chop & snow blow; dig/chop & snow blow...you get the idea.
