We never had any of our boys play football when we lived in NY because all the games were on Sunday. Here, however, none of the games or practices are on Sunday so we signed Brian up to play in the Naperville Youth Football League. The first practice isn't until August 17th but today they did player assessments and passed out equipment. They took his height and weight - 50.5 inches tall and 62 lbs. They timed him running 40 yards - he did it in 8.43 seconds. We had to purchase the helmet separately - I never knew how expensive football helmets were but don't want him getting concussions so it's worth every penny ($150!). Plus the pads inside the helmet are adjustable so he should be able to use this helmet for a few years. His head is so wide that his helmet size is large. Here he is at home trying on his helmet and shoulder pads. He is sooooooo excited to play.

I would not want to look that boy in the face now or in 10 yrs. He wil do some major damage. Watch out NFL!
