Brent was given 4 tickets to the Chicago Bears pre-season game that was this past Saturday, Aug. 28th. There are 5 of us so Brent and I agonized over what to do. Turns out Heather had no interest in going to a football game so problem solved. Heather got to hang out at a friend's house until we got home. The Bears played terribly but we cheered for them anyway (seeing as they weren't playing against the Chargers or the Giants).
This first picture is Soldier Field. See the raised up part on the right...that's an addition to the original stadium. From down on the ground on the outside of the stadium it looks like a flying saucer crashed into the field and part of it is sticking up. Well, we were up in the flying saucer seats. We could still see everything on the field surprisingly well. If there was something we wanted to see better we could just look over to one of the 2 big screens.
The next 3 pics I took with my cell phone.
The boys
By the beginning of the 4th quarter a lot of people were leaving. Geoffrey took this opportunity to stretch out and get comfortable.
"Dedicated to the Men and Women of the Armed Services"
They had a lovely tribute to a soldier partway through the game. I may not be a Bears fan but the fact that they took the time to do the tribute impressed me and everyone there stood up to give a standing ovation.

sounds fun :) the flying saucer addition has been a sore point for the chicagoans, not staying true to the original soldier field. But, for a free game, I'd sit there, too. Never been to a game in my life. If the tickets come around again, keep us in mind (of course, if you can't use them)
